Caring, loving office with a mindful approach health and wellness and a focus on eco friendly practices

At Camden Brown Orthodontics, our goal is to create a loving and peaceful environment where you will feel at ease. Our office is often complimented for our friendly, inviting team and ambience.

Dr. Brown has a special interest in overall health and wellness. She enjoys learning about alternative medicine and is in the process of completing a 9 month course in herbalism at Sacred Plant Traditions. Her clinical evaluation includes considering what may have caused bite problems in addition to providing treatment. She has a particular interest in the influence of tongue posture and breathing on dental and facial abnormalities and continues to learn more about this exciting area of orthodontics.

At Camden Brown Orthodontics, we have an interest and passion for making our office eco friendly. Our practices include but are not limited to: using eco friendly reusable sterilization containers for many of our instruments, limiting plastic products and using biodegradable when possible, recycling, supporting environmental causes and continuing to discuss, learn about and pursue ways in which a medical office can be more eco friendly. Our goal is to help make earth a better place for our children and future generations!

I grew up in Hilton Head Island, SC and then Tampa, Florida. After attending UF for college, I went on to dental school at Harvard. Living in Boston and attending Harvard was one of my favorite life experiences! The dental school was pass fail and we took all of the medical classes for the first two years, in addition to our dental curriculum. This fostered a lifelong love for learning and an appreciation for considering the whole body and connections between oral health and overall health!

I am married to a UVA graduate architect and we have two children, Alice and Ben, and a third child, our goldendoodle, Heidi. I love learning new information and continuing my “schooling.” In addition to orthodontic continuing education courses, I take courses in general dentistry, sleep and airway medicine and alternative medical practices. I am very interested in learning about how our facial form has changed over time (anthropologically), considering what is causing bite problems and facial changes and consideration of airway, sleep and general health and wellbeing. I believe in a team approach to healthcare, and make referrals as needed to the general dentist, oral surgeon, speech and language pathologist, myofunctional therapist, craniosacral therapist and other body workers. Last but not least, I have a passion for eco friendly dentistry and continue to incorporate this into the office!

I look forward to meeting you and your family and welcome you to our practice!
